Golfer’s age calculation formula

Thanks to my regular golf buddy Shaiful Nizam, I would like to share with you an interesting formula how to calculate a golfer’s age. I am not sure who invented this or how it really works mathematically, but I have tried and it certainly works. Give it a try. If you like it, don’t forget to share this post with your other golf buddies.

1. Firstly, pick the number of times a week that you would like to play golf (more than once but less than 10)
2. Multiply this number by 2
3. Add 5
4. Multiply it by 50. (Go and get a calculator)
5. If you have already had your birthday this year add 1759. If you haven’t, add 1758.
6. Now subtract the four digit year that you were born.

You should have a three digit number. The first digit of this was your original number. (i.e., how many times you want to play golf each week).

The next two numbers are YOUR AGE! (Oh YES, it is!!!!!)

Note: This year (2009) is the only year it will ever work, so spread it around while it lasts

Golf Outing: Monterez Golf and Country Club

A bunch of golfers (yours truly, Zoez, Stiff and Afar), went for a golf outing at the Monterez Golf and Country Club yesterday. While I and Zoez are regular golf buddies, yesterday was the first time we met Stif and Afar. Despite the first time we played together, the feeling of close friendship set in right from the first moment we met at the lobby… that’s the beauty of golf.

Here are some of the photos we managed to capture on camera to be shared with the readers… Enjoy!

From left… Stif, Afar and Zoez. A very happy go lucky bunch of golf buddies!

This is the view from the 9th hole. Very breath taking indeed, but can be scary (for a faint-hearted golfer like me) when it comes to driving from this hole.

On your left is OB and right in front the elevated T-box is a huge water hazard. Make just a small mistake and you will be sorry.

And here are some of our actions on video…

If you have any golf outing stories, photos and videos to share with the reader of this golf blog, please submit your article using this submission form. Thank you!

USGA US Open 2009: Lucas Glover is champion!

Among my friends, I had put my (non-monetary) bet on Tiger Wood but what happened at this year’s USGA US Open 2009 proved again, that anything can happen in golf.

He hung around throughout the weather-marred championship, staying on the leaderboard as that guy who had only two professional victories under his belt. Lucas Glover, 29, heard all the reasons why he couldn’t win. Not enough majors experience. Chances were he couldn’t handle the final-round pressure. He had never made a cut in three U.S. Opens.

[...]And there was Glover, hanging on feebly, but still there at the top. When he made the turn, he held a one-stroke lead on Barnes, and was two ahead of Ross Fisher (1-under 279) and Hunter Mahan (even-par 280).

Source : The Official Site of the US Open Championship

Against all odds, Lucas Glover sailed through the rainy days and emerged champion, earning him a cool USD1,350,000 in prize money.

Congratulation to Lucas Glover. Tiger Wood may have his chance again, next year.

The top three scorers, Khairil, Shariman and Bang Dolah, were declared first, second and third winners respectively, hence the recipients of Pennzoil sponsored goodies and a small trophy donated by one of KakiGolf forum member Pak Ngah. There was also a vacation voucher donated by MrPyan… that goes to the 2nd winner.

Here are some of the photos I would like to share with you for now.
