Bro Che, even already late, but i still want to shear my thought bout this topic. Hehe

From my experience, when we just pick up golf, we should`t buy expensive set. This was because after sometime we might want to improve our game by replacing it with any set that more suitable with us and we want to replace it with the improvement set. Than that time we definitely will sell our beginner set. And the most important things was that we can sell it at almost same price or a little bit lower than the price we bought before.

Why not we just straightaway buy improvement set rather then buying the beginner set? Good question pal. The reason being i`m not recommend you to buy improvement set was because as beginner we still don`t really know which set was really suitable with us. We cannot simply test any set that we like. One intermediate iron set already worth RM900 and above. This only iron set. Not to mentions others like driver and so on. But if you a rich man and don`t worry about money then i also selling intermediate sets hehe…just joking pals.

But no problem, if you got any question about starting golf, just give me a call…if you don`t want to buy from me also got no problem…we still can be a friend..golf is about friendship. Thanks and happy golfing…

Same here.... I chose my set blindly and it was because of the budget I had. But like you said, I can see myself using this set for quite some time in the future.

I started playing golf with new Mizuno set. The set was bought in Spore Golf House as there were more models for me to choose from. I chose my set blindly by not going thru any reviews or recommendation...I just bought it because the price suits my budget.

I have not changed my set after so many years. It is still giving me reasonable scores, sometimes birdies so I can't complain much. Buying new set definitely boost up my confidence level in play.

However, my hubby thinks differently. He opined that used golf clubs can give same performance as new set. It is a matter of golfing skill. He started off with a one year old pre-owned Daiwa set and he is still very comfortable with it after playing for 2 years.

In conclusion, new or used clubs give u the same performance. To reduce your handicap, you need to master your golfing skill. That's all !!! It takes a lot of hard work. Nobody can tell you the short cut of it !!!

Agreed with ZoeZ, customer service in golf clubs is so lacking in Malaysia. Simple greetings like saying hello, putting on a smiley face when we register to play is good enough for me...I am not asking a lot as a paying golfer (customer). We are not playing for free !!! The attitude of front office personnels tells a lot about the management of the club. These front liners are the brand ambassadors so to speak. They definitely help in growing the club's future business.

So far, the best golf registration personnel that I've ever met in Malaysia is one lady at Nilai Spring GCC. She deserved the best customer service award if there's one. She is friendly, approachable and helpful...this makes me wanna go back to the club again.

Others are so-so only...not smiling at all as though we owe them millions of $$$ :((( If I have a choice, I won't play there.

As for overseas golf clubs, one golf club near Pattaya called Khao Kheow Country Club impressed me a lot. They definitely emphasized good customer service in all aspects of the club. The food is especially yummy there !!! No wonder the owner of the club was nominated the President of Thailand Golf Associations !!!

cheeeeeeeeeeee CJ my man,

This is a good, valid topic, memang dah lama berbuku di hati gw ni. Cuba check counter registration at local GCs, I can say that out of 10, may only 2 GCs have their counter personnel trained, and display basic warmth, like hello, senyum, say enjoy your game etc etc etc.

Cheers
